The flat-bottomed, aluminum canoe began at about 15' with a 39" beam, with two pairs of oarlocks, and a full transom stern. The transition into the Ms. Witham began with the excision of the transom.
Cuts are made along the aft curves, in order to reshape the stern.
The hull, including the external keel, is held in place at the point at which a bend is wanted.
A chain hoist does the bending.
Much slicing and dicing, and no Ronco.
